Summer dreams!

Do you ever feel like the year is just passing us by? I mean, it's really going fast! One minute, we were cheering Happy New Year! And the next, it's already March!

And March only means that we have to bid the sweaters goodbye. :( Or do we really need to?
I found this hilarious thing online last week and I can't help but share it, since I am talking about how time is flying so quick!

Hahaha! Ain't it the truth! >_< After this week, it'll be exactly a month till my birthday and boy! Am I having mixed emotions about it. You see, I'm turning 26 this year and ever since I went pass 24, I haven't been really sure of how i'll feel towards nearing 30. That's still years from now, but I guess what makes me scared is that, I don't know if I have achieved much in my life by the time I get to that certain age. Well, I hope I have. More importantly, I hope I'm already working in a good company, stable and my family and I are in great shape and happy. :)

I'm not complaining about now though. :) Don't get me wrong. It isn't perfect, but it's all good. I have two healthy kids, a loving husband, good family, I'm almost done with college, I have blogging and I'm grateful for the things coming my way.

Shorts: Forever 21
Sunglasses: Sunnies Studios

And, if 25 isn't that bad for me now, maybe turning 26 wouldn't be either. :) A new year and a fresh start, would be awesome!:)

As for sweaters, I don't think I want to give up on them. Maybe, I'd still try to incorporate them in my OOTD once in awhile. Especially when I'm going to a cold event or place. ;) Just like my cute purple sweater! I wore this during our trip to the grocery and usually, I feel chilly there, so this was perfect and cozy for a laid back day. ^_^

Oh and I got a new haircut! I decided to let go of my layers and pink ombre for now and hello to the long bob! How do you guys like it? Yay or Nay?

Anyhoo, are you guys excited for summer?? I sure am! I don't have any thing to do yet, but I have some activities in mind already. Here are some on my list (whether for you or for your kiddos!)...

SUMMER ACTIVITIES

1. Mcdonald's Kiddie Crew- This is really fun! Your kids get to learn about teamwork, handwork, responsibility and they have on-the-floor training on the front counter, drive-thru, lobby and so much more. :) Registration fee is only Php 595! Check more about it here: KIDDIE CREW 2015.

2. Watercolor and Lettering Workshop- My favorite duo the Googly Gooeys have been conducting artsy workshops for awhile now and this March and April, they'll also be doing a few. So, why not join in the fun? Go here http://www.googlygooeys.com/watercolor-and-lettering-workshop/ to Sign-up!

3. Craft Manila Workshops- I've heard of Craft Manila Workshops for a long time now and they have one of the best and they offer a wide range of activities. :) Whether you want to learn how to make rubber stamps, dreamcatchers or the art of pressed flowers, they have it. :) Just register! You can do it here: CRAFT MNL Workshops. :)

4. Hey Kessy Workshops- Another shop that has workshops to offer is Hey Kessy. :) They offer Brass Jewelry Making, Slab Pottery and Paper cutting. You can register here: HEY KESSY Workshops. :)

So far, those are what I have in mind. Hoping I discover more in the coming days!

Have a great week ahead!:)

4,000 Miles

Filipinos are family-oriented. That is the story of our culture. A fact woven into the very fabric of our existence. For 26 years now, I myself am very close to my family. I'm always with my Lola and my Mom and I often talk online despite her being abroad. It's just something that we would hold dear to our hearts as Filipinos. But of course, we can't avoid some misunderstandings sometimes due to the generation gap. Though, it doesn't mean that we won't pull through as a family. :)

Last Friday, Athan and I watched the opening of  an on staged play just about family ties. :) It's Repertory Philippines' newest play, '4,000 Miles.' :)

I think this is already my fourth Repertory Philippines play and I must say I'm enjoying it a lot. I never did take notice of these things until I watched their Alice In Wonderland last 2013. I love how creative they get on stage. They really know how to put on a good show! :) This time though, it wasn't a musical, but a monologue kind.

About 4,000 Miles

"After suffering a major loss while he was on a cross-country bike trip, 21 year-old Leo seeks solace from his feisty 91 year-old grandmother Vera in her West Village apartment. Over the course of a single month, these unlikely roommates infuriate, bewilder, and ultimately reach each other. 4,000 Miles looks at how two outsiders find their way in today's world."

"It's about understanding. It's about our journey towards growth and wisdom. That's what makes it so universal. I think by the end of it, we'll all walk away just a bit wiser about the dynamic of human relationship,"Bart Guingona, the play's director said.

In its various runs across America, 4,000 Miles has received praise for its story. It has been heralded as the Best New Play by the Obie Awards in 2012 and was a Finalist for the prestigious Pulitzer Prize. Amy Herzog (the writer) was also recognized as an outstanding playwright by the New York Times.

Cast of the play is Baby Barredo (Vera Joseph), Jef Topacio Flores (Leo Joseph- Connell), Caisa Borromeo (Bec), and Cara Barredo (Amanda). :)

This play kind of surprised me. It wasn't the typical one that I'm used to. Nevertheless, a good show. :)

4,000 MILES will be staged from March 6 to 29 at the Onstage Theater in Greenbelt 1, Makati City. Ticket prices range from Php 400 to Php 600. For more details regarding 4,000 Miles, call Repertory Philippines at 843-3570 or you can also book tickets through TicketWorld at 891-9999 or visit their website at www.ticketworld.com.ph :)

Packages + My Shipping Box review

Ever since I registered myself for a GCash AmEx Virtual Pay, I have found online shopping on US sites to be so convenient. I started using it last November 2012 and till now I'm one of their loyal customers. I just love how easy it is to use - you load up your GCash wallet with either your load or you put cash in it by going to any Globe Telecom store and once you have your funds in your GCash wallet, you can start shopping!:)

I won't go on any further about how the GCash AmEx works, because I've blogged about it twice already and i'll leave those links below for your perusal, just incase you're curious about it. ;)

Now though, I'm excited to share that my packages from My Shipping Box has arrived!!!:) Yey!

But what I really want to review here is the service of My Shipping Box. :)

I've been using My Shipping Box for as long as I've been using GCash AmEx Virtual Pay, because their service is actually tied up. When you register for a My Shopping Box account, they will provide you with a US address and from there you can make the international online shops ship it to your US address. It will be much cheaper than getting it shipped directly here in the Philippines and most of all, you need not worry about the customs harassing you! >_< Ack! Hate that part a lot, don't you?!

So, a fews month back; November 2014 to be exact. I ordered two items from Nordstrom during the last Black Friday Sale and it was directly sent to My Shopping Box US address. I usually get informed on my email if my package has arrived there. After that, I go to my account and 'Authorize Shipment' to my Philippine address.

There are two modes of shipment- via Air and via Sea freight. If you choose Air, your package will arrive within 10 days. But if you choose via Sea, you'll get it in 40-60 days. I guess you're wondering why choose the latter when it will arrive 2 months after purchase. Well, first off, you are charged per pound ( Air: 1 Pound- $5.99 | Sea: 1 Pound- $2.00+) and if your package is quite heavy, it can cost you a lot of money and Sea freight is usually the best option for that scenario. But if you have a very lightweight package, then Air would be just fine. :)

In my case, for the first package I had to go for Sea Freight since it was around 3 lbs and I exceeded the allotted 15 days FREE storage, I had to pay a little extra. I didn't want to pay so much.

I was able to track if my package departed the US already through My Shopping Box account as well and the cautious person that I am, really counted the days to make sure it will arrive on time.

True enough, after 60 days, my package from Nordstrom has arrived!:) It was a bit of a long wait, but worth it! Both arrived in great condition and two thumbs up for the tightly secured wrapping skills.

Nothing makes a customer more happy than having their package arrive safely. :) I am very pleased that my Betsy Johnson Bag and Kate Spade case is finally here!

Next package up is shipped via Air Freight. :)

I shipped these both via Air Freight, because they were both only 1 lbs each, so it pocket-friendly!:) Oh and I forgot to mention that since I used GCash, My Shipping Box has a 3% Net discount on my shipping fee. :)

Checking the calendar, this should have arrived last Saturday. But I guess delays can't be helped sometimes and this came in the mail today. :) Not bad, considering that the 15th was a Sunday and there's no delivery during that day. I'm still happy how my parcel was handled. Once again, secured and in very good condition.

Overall, my rating my My Shipping Box would have to be 4.5 stars. :) I like their service and so far, I haven't had a problem with them.

Being healthy is something everyone finds difficult to do. But with the environment that we're all living in now and a lot of people getting sick, it's just but right that we take steps in becoming more healthy and fit. So far, this March has been a great stepping stone for me. I've been getting quite a few invites regarding health related events and I'm really enjoying it! Because, not only people who lose weight need to stay in good shape, but even thin ones like me. You need to flush out those toxins and replace it with good. :)

Last Friday, I attended my first fitness part care of Yummy Diet at Active Fun, BGC.

What is Yummy Diet exactly? :)

You can then inquire by sending them an SMS, email or FB Message and  their customer representatives will assist you. They have credit card and bank deposits for payment and after, just wait until Sunday or Monday for your meals. :) Super easy and healthy!

I had the chance to taste their food during the event and for a diet food, I didn't expect it to taste that good!:) I enjoyed it. My favorite would have to be the egg muffin wrapped in bacon!^_^ Nom nom nom! Who knew you can eat yummy food and stay healthy? :)

The ladies were also treated to free sessions of Aero-G and Zumba and I can attest that this was the favorite activity of all the ladies who were present that day. :) They really danced and sweated the night away!:) I on the other hand, was kinda shy. >_< haha! For you, guys who aren't into lifting weights and hardcore gym, I think this is a great workout! Next time, I should really give this a go, because it seemed like a lot of fun!

Aside from Yummy Diet's programs, they also have Gold Press Juicing

Gold Press Juicing is by Yummy Diet & Fruit Magic. Together they have made Premium Cold-Pressed Fruit & Vegetable Juice that will be perfect for your diet. They offer three kinds of Juice Set; The Bronze Juice Set is the entry level for juice detox. This set contains more green juices for a higher level of detoxification and cleanse. The Gold Set is for the brave and pro-level juicer! The abundance of green juices in this set aims to create the healthiest pH balance of human blood to keep the body in an alkaline state.

I also learned from their spokesperson that if you're the type who doesn't like eating or Veggies or Fruits, that this is a good substitute for that. One bottle a day will already complete that. :) I was relieved to hear that even kids can have this. :) They'll officially start juicing and delivery on April 12. :)

Shakey's at 40: Color Fun Run!

For 40 years, Shakey's has captured the hearts of many in the Philippines. From their mouth-watering pizzas and their all-time favorite Chicken n' Mojos, their menu has definitely grown so much to cater to everyone's cravings. However, for Shakey's, its more than serving meals that will satisfy even the toughest critics - it's about the Good Times and Great Memories shared by their Guests. I couldn't agree more to that. Don't you feel nostalgic whenever you eat at Shakey's? In my part, I really do. I remember my childhood days when my Mom would bring us there, because she's craving for their thin crust pizza. It was pure family bonding! Oh those were the good days! Until now, we're still Shakey's lovers!:)

It was still this dark when we got there!

To celebrate the colorful 40- year story of Shakey's Philippines, everyone is treated to a fun 5 kilometer run that's literally bursting with colors. We started from their oldest existing store in Raja Sulayman, Malate and made a U-turn back to finish. :)

I'm usually not a morning person and I really mean that! It takes a lot for me to be dragged out of bed. But this is my first fun run and I didn't want to miss out!:) That day I was a morning person!^_^ We actually weren't able to sleep anymore, because we had to get to the event at exactly 5AM for the race gun shot at 6AM. Whew! But we made it!

There were a lot of people who joined the race. Our number was already 827-828 when we got there and I even saw 1000+! And as we ran through the course, we got showered with different colors that allowed us to enjoy the run in a unique and colorful way. :)

We made it to 1 Kilometer!! Achievement!! Take note, this was a 5Km race, but we already found ourselves panting and struggling at 1Km! Hahaha! Talk about lack of exercise! Very bad! We need to do this more often! >_< Can you tell by the smile on my face that I'm so happy?? haha!

The Shakey's Color Fun Run is Shakey's unique way of giving thanks to the Filipino family. By telling a colorful story in an exciting way, they are able to make their guests experience what it's like to have someone color your story with happy and vibrant hues. For Shakey's, their real 40-year story are the Good Times and Great Memories they shared with you. :)

Of course in any race, there are winners and Shakey's awarded the fastest Male who finished in 15 minutes and Female in 18 minutes! - OMG!! I applaud them both!! Sobrang bilis lang! Flash is that you?? And also the most colorful Male, Female and Group! :) Congratulations!!

And yahoo!! We got to the finish line! We started at 6:00 AM and finished at exactly 6:53! Not bad for first timers!:) Thank you so much, Shakey's for this wonderful and artsy experience! It was worth it to see the sunrise and have this off my bucket list!

Happy 40 years and more to come, Shakey's!!!

The Yabu Don Series!

If there's one Katsu place that will always be close to my heart, that would be Yabu. It's my and the family's ultimate favorite! And what I love about them the most is that, they never fail to innovate their products. They always have something new to offer and allow customers to drool for. :)

Just recently, Yabu has launched their Donburi sets - The Salmon Don and Katsu Curry Don. Lucky for me and Asher, we got to try both on the same night! What a treat for our tummies!:)

Before our main course, we were served the appetizers; Miso soup, Edamame and Wakeme seaweed. :) Yum!! But what I really was waiting for is the Curry!

Presenting, The Katsu Curry Don!

Would you believe that the one who got a first taste or bite out of this wasn't me? Haha! It was Asher! He could smell how good it was that he didn't hesitate to get the spoon from me!:) I loved this too! The curry sauce and cheese really married well together and it's pure bliss for me! Who knew that the two would go so well!:) The rice was cooked to perfection as well and they recommend that this is best eaten when you mix everything. They also have an option whether you want it Regular, Hot or Very Hot! As for us, we went for Regular first to be safe. ;)

And next, of course, is the Salmon Don!

Out of the two, this would have to be my favorite! The salmon was nicely cooked - it was so soft and still had that nice pinkish color to it. :) This, like the Katsu Curry Don is also best eaten when mixed and you know, it tastes so fresh... like the sea! In a good way! haha! Not exaggerating, but if you love seafood, then you'll enjoy this dish. :) With the rice, they added some fried salmon skin and I loved the crunchy texture with everything else. :) Good!

Aside from the delicious meal, thank you, Yabu for the chocolate ice cream treat for my little one! Just look at that hyper and happy face! ^_^

In case, you're near a Yabu branch today, be sure to try out their Yabu Don Series! It's officially out now! Yey!

Currently nursing a sprained foot this weekend, so I thought i'd blog an overdue OOTD. Had this on my phone for awhile now and I don't know why it actually took me this long to post it. But anyway! Forgetful me! >_<

How's your weekend going so far? :) I hope it's a whole lot better than mine!

Starting to bring out my summer clothes and accessories!:) I know it's getting really hot already, so I've been wearing a lot of shorts, dresses and I'm trying to wear most of my quirky accessories. Notice my super cute pine tree earrings? Heeee! :)

beanie: forever 21
earrings: claire's
Sunnies:rayban clubmaster
sneakers: nike
bag: baggu

I can't get enough of sneakers lately though. I used to be a rubber shoes junkie growing up. But when I reached my 20s, I went for more lady-like shoes, like sandals and heels. But that kinda changed again and I seriously want another pair of Nike sneaks. :) I only have one pair now... -_- I've been eyeing on a particular Nike AirMax style and it's actually on my birthday wish list! And speaking of birthday! It's already next month!! Gaaaaah! I'll be writing about my wish list soon! :)

I'm pretty excited for April. March has been a little tough for me. Especially this week! >_<  I can't wait to move on to a new month! I'm always positive when it comes to new and fresh start! Are you looking forward to April as well? :)

Anyhoo, have a great rest of the weekend!

Being a person who drives almost everyday; fetching Athan from school, going on errands and weekend mall trips, you can bet that we often have to gas up. It can go from Php 200 to 500 a week, depending on the distance for us. It can be steep at times, but it's essential. Because for me, i'd rather drive than be hassled with long taxi lines. I'm sure my fellow drivers know the feeling. But wouldn't it be nice that every time we gas up, we get something in return? A reward of some sort. :)

Well, now I've got some good news for you! Caltex gives Robinsons Rewards Car members more fuel discounts and shopping savings!

How does this team up exactly work? :) Let me tell you more about it!
Last March 26 at Makati Shangri-la Hotel, Caltex and Robinsons announced that Robinsons Rewards Card (RRC) members will now enjoy earning more points not only when they shop at their favorite Robinsons store but also when they fuel up at Caltex. RRC members can now use their points to redeem Php 1.00 discount for every one liter fuel purchase at participating Caltex stations nationwide. Every five liter gas up earns a point which means that the more customers fuel up at Caltex and shop at Robinsons, the more points for fuel and shopping savings!

Ms. Robina Gokongwei-Pe ( President and COO, Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc.) | Jessy Mendiola ( RRC Brand Ambassador ) | Mr. Peter Morris ( Country Chairman, Chevron Philippines)

In addition to fuel savings, RRC members will also enjoy big discounts in their shopping and grocery purchases as points earned at participating Caltex stations can be redeemed at any of 1,180 Robinsons stores nationwide which include Robinsons Department store, Robinsons Supermarket, Robinsons Selections, Robinsons Easymart, Robinsons Appliances, Handyman, True Value, AM Builders' Depot, Toys "R" Us, Daiso Japan, Topshop, Topman, Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge, Burton Menswear, Warehouse, River Island, Shana, G2000, Shiseido and Benefit.

Customers can avail of this benefit by signing up for RRC membership at any Robinsons stores for Php 150 only. :)

"Caltex has been in the Philippines for over 75 years. Throughout this time, the Caltex brand has remained relevant to Filipino motorists because we are able to support their changing lifestyles and needs. This partnership allows us to uniquely reward thousands of motorists and shoppers for their loyalty to Caltex and Robinsons. We are truly proud of this long-term relationship with Robinsons Retail Holdings Inc." - Mr. Peter Morris

"We at Robinsons Retail are always looking for new ways to delight our customers and give them a better customer experience. That is why we are very happy to partner with Chevron Philippines Inc.'s, Caltex service stations to expand the acceptance of Robinsons Rewards beyond stores operated by Robinsons. This will be a welcome development to over 800,000 members of RRC. With more than 700 Caltex service statins nationwide, we are very honored to have Chevron Philippines as our first external partner for Robinsons Rewards."- Ms. Robina Gokongwei-Pei

How does the Robinsons Rewards Points Earning Scheme work? Simple! Here's an example below...

Robinsons Department Store - Purchased Amount Php 200 --> 1 point = Php 1 Peso Conversion
Robinsons Supermarket - Purchased Amount Php 400 --> 1 point = Php 1 Peso Conversion
Topshop / Topman - Purchased Amount Php 200 --> 1 point = Php 1 Peso Conversion
Benefit / River Island / Shiseido  - Purchased Amount Php 200 --> 1 point = Php 1 Peso Conversion
Caltex - Purchased Amount 5 liters --> 1 point = Php 1 Peso Conversion

a. A minimum of 50 points is required before a cardholder may begin to redeem points. Cardholders may redeem less than 50 Points per fuel purchase.
b. Cardholders can redeem one (1) Point for every liter of fuel purchased. Each point redeemed entitles the Cardholder to a Php 1.00 discount per liter.
c. The Cardholder can redeem maximum of 60 Points per fuel purchase.
d. Any fuel purchased in excess of points redemption shall eligible to earn points.

You can also easily keep track of your points by using the Robinsons Rewards App, which can be downloaded from Google Play Store and Apple App store, or email Robinsons Rewards Customer service at customercare@robinsonsrewards.com.ph

You can check points even if you're on the go! How convenient, right?? :)

Now, gas-ing up a whole lot happier for us! Yey to shopping and savings!:)

Adidas x Pharrell Williams: Supercolor SS'15

$

I'm starting to get hooked on sneakers right now and when I first saw the collaboration of Adidas and Pharrell Williams on Instagram, I totally flipped! I normally don't get so excited with new sneaker styles cos I already have a certain kind in mind that I want. But this was an exception! It's so colorful too resist!

Still don't see the hype? :) Well, let me show you more!

A true superstar knows the importance of individuality. It’s not about following the pack, or telling someone else what to wear. You cannot impose a style on a superstar – nor a trend, or a color. This is the ethos behind the adidas Originals Supercolor release, which sees the iconic Superstar silhouette transformed via a spectrum of 50 different colorways. Pharrell Williams knows that the most empowering thing you can give a superstar is the freedom of expression. In collaboration with the creative and entertainer, the adidas Originals Supercolor Superstar pack offers a choice like never before.

“Supercolor is a celebration of equality through diversity. With 50 colours of the Superstar, everybody will be able to select his or her color. It is more diverse than any pack ever before and therefore it is more individual than any pack ever before”, says Pharrell of the release. “With every shoe treated exactly the same, all colors are equal. No matter what color you choose, you can be part of Supercolor. Choose your color.”

I personally have my eyes on the pastel shades already! ;)

Supercolor is already available in the Philippines starting March 27, 2015.

Keds x The Block Party!

This blog isn't named 'Artsy Fartsy Ava'for nothing. I may not be able to post art related stuff here everyday or even twice in a month - guilty as charged, cos I post more often on Instagram. But I really do feel ecstatic when I get to attend artsy events. It's my favorite kind!:)

I remember back in December 2011 when I got to attend my very first KEDS styling -READ HERE- event by BBM. I had so much fun back then with my blogger friends Ana and Melai. :) Fast forward to now, it's already my second time! I got excited when I received the email and thankfully I chose the Sunday slot, because had it been a Saturday, I wouldn't have made it due to my foot sprain. :(( Luckily, Sunday, I was already capable of walking slowly.

This year, the KEDS DIY activity was held at the Block Party at Makiling Park. :)

Do you want to see how I designed my pair of classic KEDS this time around? :)

The Makiling Park was the perfect place to hold the event. The place was packed with food booths, kids biking, playing and so many artsy booths! Ahhhh! My kind of park; filled with ART!

Found these super cute Storm Trooper magnets and I wanted to take all of them home! One day, when we have out own house, i'll fill up the facade of your refrigerator with these!

But of course, the main highlight of my time at the Block Party was the KEDS styling. :)

M pair :)

With my fellow artsy bloggers Mel and Vina :)

Like last time, we were given a nice, immaculately white pair of Keds and this just makes me wanna dive in more and start painting! It needs COLOR!! Haha! >_< I'm kinda a color maniac. =P

I started out with a subtle design of colorful banderitas around the ankle part of my sneakers and highlighted some parts with pastel purple and pink. :)

But I tend to go overboard with my design sometimes and I ended up with this! ^_^ I really can't wait to wear this! I'm just waiting for my sprain to fully heal and when I can walk straight again, i'll definitely take my artsy pair out for a spin!:)

Thank you so much again, Keds Philippines for having me over! I had a really great time styling my Keds!:) Happy Weekend for me!

Birthday Wish List.♥

$

Made this kind of list so many times already and I'm happy to say that even if I don't get everything I want in my list on the same year, destiny has its ways of giving some of them to me, whether it be months or years from now. I realized this when I reflected back on my old birthday wish lists. So cool that they still have a way of coming back to me even if my birthday is over. :) But what tugs my heart strings the most is the people who really take the time to greet me on my special day. Nothing beats that! That alone makes me happy. :)

Though, making a wish list every year has been a tradition of mine, so here it goes!:)

1. Cute phone cases

I have a collection of phone cases and ever since I got an iPhone 5s as a gift for Christmas a year ago, I got hooked in the super cute cases the keep coming out from different shops. :) In particular, I love the ICE CREAM, INFINITY LOVE and BOHO design from Bershka and CACTUS Phone case from H&M. :) I'm still on the lookout for the Cactus one since  H&M Philippines doesn't have them yet. Hoping they'll have it soon! ^_^

2. Alice in Wonderland Instax Film

I love Alice in Wonderland and when they came out with this film, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. :) The prints are super cute!

3. Funko Pop Toys

These super adorable Funko Pop Toys are also on my list! I originally had six in mind, but the Hubby got me an advance birthday gift last month, so I had to take La Muerte from The Book of Life off my list! Yey!! ^_^ Happy me! So far, I wanna get Princess Bubblegum and Mrs. Potts and Chip next!

4. Bonehead comb & brush

Found this super cool comb & brush at Hobbes & Landes, Greenbelt last month and I couldn't stop looking at it. It's seriously THE coolest! :) I remember when I was still 13 years old, I wanted to be an Archaeologist so bad. This comb would have been so perfect! Reason why, it's on my list!

5. Nike AirMax

Being a sneaker head lately and I've got the Nike AirMax on my mind! I only own one Nike trainers right now and I really want another pair. Crazy about these two pairs the most!:) Aren't they pretty?? Love love love!!

6. Typo

Typo is just heaven for me! I can live in that shop forever! I especially love these items. :) Can't enough of the DREAMER STENCILS, PINEAPPLE POUCH, FLAMINGO PEN and PINEAPPLE STICKERS. :) How can they not be on my wish list?? Too cute!

7. Rags to Riches Mini Buslo Bag

The normal version of this Buslo has been on my mind for a long time. But I always found it too big, so I never got one. But when they came out with the mini buslo and with two straps! Omg! It's like it was made for me! ^_^ I can't get enough of handmade stuff and this bag is love! Definitely one of the top wishes!

8. Primadonna White Mandals

Normcore may be slowly subsiding, but normcore will never be out for me. I am too laid back! I have my eye on this cute pair of white mandals with straps on my list! :)

9. Michael Kors Gold Watch

A gold watch is a must- have fashion item. It's classic and you can wear it with ANYTHING! :) I covet this one from Michael Kors. I love the big dial and color! :)

10. Mansur Gavriel Bucket Bag

Since last year, this bag has been in my dreams! It's quite pricey but it's perfect for casual or formal days and such a classic bag. :) I'd love to have even just the mini version of this in rose or nude!:) Dream bag!

And that ends my wish list for now. :) I can't believe I'm turning 26 in just 19 days! Whew! :)) Good luck to that! I hope I take it gracefully! haha!

Have a good Holy Week, everyone! Don't forget to pray and reflect!

Easy Gourmet: Singapore Curry

$

I distinctly remember the first time my mom made me curry; I was in Taipei back then for my summer vacation and she's fond of cooking for me whenever I'm there and it was one of the best curries I have ever tasted. No bias or joke. Of course, she passed on to me this little and quick meal secret since I also have my own family now. :)

That secret is found in this box and you can make this into a meal in just 20-25 minutes and i'll show you how. :)

My mom usually brings me home boxes of these in Taiwan, because it's much cheaper there. But you can also get a box of this at SM Hypermarkets or Rustan's supermarket. Last time I checked, they're around Php 240. :)

Now, let's get cooking! The main ingredients are the ones you find on my photo above. As per the box, it says you need 720 g of chicken (I lack chicken on my photo hihihi) and 3 potatoes. I personally like adding carrots. It's really up to you.

Inside the box you will find two packets and instructions on how to cook it. I'll just elaborate more here on my blog. :)

Before anything else, I rinse my veggies first and cut them into tiny pieces. You can also dice them if you prefer. As for the chicken, you can buy chicken breast and slice them into chunks. But I normally don't do that anymore. I get the 'menudo cut' (according to SM Hypermarket) at the grocery since it's already in the perfect size that I want and saves me the time in slicing. :)

After that, you start cooking! What you need...

Water (for step 1) 400 ml
Singapore Curry Paste (A) 1 packet
Chicken 720 g
Potatoes, cut into chunks 3nos
Singapore Curry Premix (B) 1 packet
Water (for step 5) 260 ml
* The packets have A & B indicated on them, so you know which one to use first :)

Step 1- In a pot, add Singapore Curry Paste into 400 ml of water. Stir well and bring to boil on high heat, stirring occasionally.

Step 2- Add chicken, potatoes and carrots, stir well and bring to boil. Lower heat, cover pot and simmer for 10 minutes on medium heat.

Step 3 - In a separate bowl, stir Singapore Curry Premix into 260 ml water. Mix well and add to pot. Simmer for 7 minutes on low heat. Do not cover the pot. Stir occasionally and ensure that the gravy does not boil.

After Step 3, you're officially done cooking!:) Ready to serve your easy gourmet meal! You can eat this with either bread or rice. :)

Even if you're not used to cooking or just starting to learn, you'll easily get this recipe. :)

Hope you enjoy and let me know if you get to try this out!

AFA Paints: Best friend

I started painting on canvas again when this year began and when I did, I had a small canvas and worked my way up. For my current and third one, I got a much bigger one. I initially wanted to do a small one, but National Bookstore didn't have any, so I went for a 16"x16". However, this time it wasn't for me, but a birthday gift for my best friend. :)

I've been experimenting on using other tools for painting on my canvas aside from acrylic. I tried it on my notebook first and seeing that it looked nice, I tried it on the canvas. :)

My best friend wanted a painting that represented our friendship. At first I found it difficult, because I'm not really good at drawing in super detailed ways. But I figured abstract would be something i'll be good at. :)

This represents our friendship - a heart connected, colorful friendship through the years and the patterns represent all the things adventures and different things we've been through!

Who knew that nail polish, glitter glue and acrylic would go so well together! ^_^ This is my favorite work among the three i've done so far. Hoping I can do at least three more before the year ends. :)

Can't wait to do more artsy stuff this 2015!

Sean O' Pry x Penshoppe

I'm sure most of you have seen Taylor Swift's famous video 'Blank Space' and in any case you haven't... Have you been living under a rock?? >_< But for the majority, I'm sure you have been swooned by the leading man and who wouldn't be?? Those smoldering eyes will undeniably melt your heart! I know it did for me! And take note, not just in the music video!

How and where did I meet this gorgeous man??

Well, he is none other than Penshoppe's newest brand ambassador!:) He arrived last week here in Manila and fans of the modeling world's top star can't wait to get a glimpse of him as he graces a series of interviews and activities for the fashion powerhouse here in our country.

And last Friday, I got the privilege to meet and hug *insert kilig smile here* this 25-year-old stunner at the Press Conference. :)

Unlike his very serious role in 'Blank Space', I actually found him to be hilarious and very down-to-earth. It's no wonder why Penshoppe chose him - this hunk is not just about looks. ;)

"We're proud to have one of the world's most successful male models in Penshoppe's roster of brand ambassadors. As the epitome of good looks and great personal style, Sean is the perfect face to represent our Spring/Summer 2015 collection, which showcases stylish casual wear with refreshing twists that definitely make a statement."- Jeff Bascon, Penshoppe Brand Director

The perks of going to his Press Conference was all of us got a tight hug!

Will you watch 'Blank Space' again after this? I think you might!;) Hehe. :)

Run For Your Wife

$

I've been watching a lot of plays from Repertory Philippines lately, but majority of them are musicals. I've only encountered two monologues and that second one I only watched last Friday with my Husband. :) We've been very fond of watching plays from Repertory and I don't know why we haven't done this sooner!

The play is wittingly titled 'Run For Your Wife'and I really recommend that you watch this with your spouse or partner in life like I did. ^_^

As part of its 2015 line up, Repertory Philippines launches RUN FOR YOUR WIFE, a sexy comedy written by Ray Cooney. Since its launch in 1983 at London's Wesy End, it had a successful nine year run in the UK. After that, the show has been staged most notably in New York, Paris, Stockholm, and Manila.

RUN FOR YOUR WIFE trails John Smith, a taxi driver in London who has two wives: one in Streatham and another in Wimbledon. After he gets mugged and winds up in the hospital, the police department from each district calls Mrs. Smith: Mary Smith and Barbara Smith.

From there, the story takes a hilarious turn and if you're into British humor, you'd really enjoy this one. The complex choreography and impeccable timing also deserves nothing but praises! If I could watch this play again, I would!:)

"Even if it's an old play, it's such a funny and well-written play. Let's just have a good time laughing because it's better to laugh than to feel angry or sad. Humor as they say is the best medicine, right?"- Miguel Faustmann, Director

Cast:Jamie Wilson (John Smith) | Jeremy Domingo (Stanley Gardner)  | Goldie Soon (Mary Smith) | Mikkie Bradshaw (Barbara Smith) | Steven Conde (Bobby Franklin) | James Stacey (Det. Sgt. Troughton) | Paul Holme ( Det. Insp. Porterhouse) | Mara Celine Javier (Newspaper Reporter)

The humor is distinctly British, but the cast and director believe that the premise of having two wives is a universal concept.

"It's not accepted here but it's done. Remember the humor in it, not the taboo. RUN FOR YOUR WIFE shows the humor of this ridiculous situation. You could put the same situation, take all the humor out of it and be a heavy drama like a typical Filipino teleserye. But nobody has shown the humor in it. And this is what it's showing."-Jamie Wilson

I highly recommend that you watch this play. It's something that you will surely enjoy and it's a far different experience from watching a movie at the cinema. Try it if you haven't. :)

RUN FOR YOUR WIFE will be staged from April 10 to May 3, 2015 at the Onstage Theater in Greenbelt 1, Makati City. Ticket prices ranges from Php 400 to Php 600. For more details regarding the play, call Repertory Philippines at 843-3570. You can also book tickets through TicketWorld at 891-9999 or www.ticketworld.com.ph.

Sweet and Creative summer at Shang

$

It may be summer vacation for most students already here in the Philippines, but for trimestral students like me, I still have until mid-April before school ends. But even if that's the case, I promised myself that i'll be checking off a lot of things on my Bucket List this year and so far, I have accomplished something that I've wanted to do for two years already. Its been on my B.L. that long! :( That has changed though! Yey!

What's that 'one thing' one my Bucket List that took me two years to accomplish?

Well, it's to attend artsy or art-related workshops. :) I always had a problem with either budget or time, so I never got the chance to attend a single one. But like they say, 'If you really want it, you'll do something about it!' And, true enough, I finally got to attend my first watercolor and lettering workshop last weekend (will make a separate blog entry about that soon) and just today, I was able to squeeze in another one - Craft Mania at Shangri-La Plaza! I couldn't be any happier. :)

Shangri-La is one of my go-to Malls and it's nice to see that this summer, they've come up with more ways for family and friends to enjoy this season.

Running from April 17-19 at the mall's Lower Ground Level of the East Wing and East Atrium for the Crafts Workshops, Craft Mania at the Shang pools the Shang's arts, crafts, and complementary brands for a creative and educational weekend that will surely fill everyone's thirst for learning and fun.

Your summer need not to be boring! Among the workshops slated for Craft Mania at the Shang are sketching, D.I.Y. card making, brush calligraphy, polymer clay, basic pottery, typography, chalk and sand art, and various coloring activities including watercolor. All workshops are free and inclusive of materials, with some of the workshops presented by Stabilo. Calligraphers Fozzy Dayrit and Anina Rubio will also lead some of the classes, along with other arts and crafts masters. There will also be performances from Trumpets and JNA Fitness and Dance Center during the weekend. :)

Today, I was able to learn a bit about gift wrapping and brush lettering by none other than Anina Rubio as our teacher. ^_^

While I was working on my lettering, Ms. Anina actually approached each table to see how we were doing and she said mine was pretty good already! Yey!:)

Aside from Craft Mania, a saccharine-filled surprise for mall guests, as favorite brands showcase their latest treats at the Dessert Fair at the Shang, happening on April 24-26 at the Lower Ground Level of the East Wing.

No one with a sweet tooth would want to miss out on the delicious selections on display and for sale fromBaker's Fresh, Dippin' Dots, Epicurious, Gelatissimo, Golden Spoon, Poetry & Prose, Red Ribbon, Villa Del Conte, and Wicked.

So, if you don't have any plans this weekend, why not drop by Shangri-La Plaza and enjoy their one-of-a-kind activities and have a sweet and creative summer. :)

Have a happy weekend, everyone!

Instax DIY Day Year 2!

$

Having my very own Instax camera has always been a dream of mine and getting more than that is just the best! I currently have my Instax mini 8 and Instax Share. I've been using those two a lot, because nothing beats being able to print your memories in an instant. I usually put my Instax prints on my journal to remind me about all the nice things that happened. But before putting them on my notebook, I decorate or design them. Which is why, I love it when Instax teaches us more ways to D.I.Y. our films. :)

I attended the first ever Instax DIY Day  last August 2014 and so happy I got to go again this time around for their Instax DIY Day Year 2!

Can you guess what we did this time around? :)

The event was held at Shutter Master Pro at Quezon City and we were welcomed with an Alice in Wonderland-looking themed place. :) It was so cute! I couldn't help but take a lot of photos! Especially that dessert table! Nomnomnom!

For this year, four of our fellow bloggers/artist friends were the ones who taught us what we can do with the films we have laying around our table.

Reese Lansangan taught us how to turn Instax prints into a keychain | Camie Juan showed us how she posts her own Instax wide prints- sticking it into a calendar to remind her of good memories | RJ Roque is famous for his collage photos of people and he taught us that along with other Instax effects. | Verniece Enciso being the fashion blogger that she is, taught us how to organize our closet through Instax films. :)

My favorite would have to be Reese and Verniece's, because I would definitely want to try those out! I love keychains and my closet needs TLC! haha!

After the tutorials, we also had a few games and my favorite was the one where we had to create or make our own D.I.Y. version using Instax. :) We actually got competitive with this, because we really wanted to win the cute Instax Mini 8 USB! >_<

My groupmates were Michael Macalos, Melissa Gatchalian, Anagon and Hershey Neri. We were the 'artsy' group! We made a baby mobile, because they say that a baby can remember things even their still small, so what better first memory than pictures, right? :)

We didn't win, but had so much fun doing this activity with my friends!:)

Thank you so much, Instax for the invite! Can't wait for Year 3!
