Gifted Movement

The world has long been fascinated by prodigies - gifted kids whose accomplishments at such a young age, shed light to a child's inherent talent, intellect and precocity.

In the Philippines, perhaps no other personalities represent the concept and reality of what gifted children are than the three who illustrated it via one of the most memorable television commercials of the 90s - Kiko Galura, James Flores, and Shaira Luna. If you're a 90s kid and you were addicted to TV as I was, I'm pretty sure you've seen their commercials plenty of times and would even recall them. :)

But what has become of the three gifted kids featured in the brand's most prolific commercial yet? The budding poet? The promising astronomer? The medical marvel?

First of all, they're all grown up now and second, their accomplishments as adults are just as impressive as what they were able to deliver as kids.

Watch the video below to see...

Was there ever any doubt that they wouldn't grow up to become successful gifted alumni?

It's easy to assume things come easily to naturally gifted kids. But it's important to remember that it's a factor of different things that will carve out a good future for any child.

Parents always want the best for their children and have a vital role in nurturing a their children's giftedness by providing them with the right nutrients growing up and supporting them in what they do with love and encouragement. :)

Kiko, James and Shaira - All grown up :)

The great Joey Ayala was also at the Promil Alumni event and I was so fond of his words of wisdom. He even said something like, "For me, being different was the normal..I didn't know that it was different.." :) And if there was one thing in common with what Kiko, James, Shaira and Sir Joey Ayala is that, they all believe that a mothers role is important. Parents help us in discovering and bringing out our talents. :)

"Throughout the years, Promil Pre-School has been encouraging parents to keep nurturing the gifts of their children. As we usher in a new year, we encourage others to become advocates of giftedness as well."- Dian Yu, Product Manager of Promil Pre-School

The new generation of Promil gifted children with their parents. :)

In 2015, Promil Pre-School is launching their Gifted Movement campaign, which is a movement to supporting and celebrating giftedness in the country. The brand aims to spark interest and gain the commitment of moms and consumers to take an active role in advocating giftedness and nurturing it. :)

Goodness gracious! Its been forever since my last Art Diaries post and I'm so sorry for that!>_< I have a good excuse though! I love my Instagram account so much, or more like addicted to it, that I always upload anything artsy related there. I got bit by the shutterbug and I can post up to 2-3 photos a day! So, if you're the type who loves updates, you can expect that a lot from me!^_^

Anyhoo, finally back with another Art Diaries post and that's because I'm painting on canvas frames again! Yey!! That has been on my Bucket List since last year and I'm so glad the Hubby gave me new paint brushes and a canvas frame last Christmas. From there, I just got so excited to start again. :)

The first thing I did was to think of a subject and how I was going to paint it. Since I was am still very obsessed with pineapples, I decided to go for that and went with an abstract theme. :)

By the way, I used Acrylic colors for all my canvas paintings.

This is my final output!:) I know I have a lot to work on. Especially my strokes. I pretty rusty! I didn't get to practice for years. :( But hoping to be back on track for good!

After I finished this, I was itching to paint another canvas frame, so I bought a 9 x 12 frame, I think? Kinda a blur on the size, but it's a shorter one compared to my first.

It took my awhile to decide on a design, but I figured since I started out with a pineapple, i'll continue on with a series of fruits before moving on to a new theme. :) So, sketched my second fave - watermelon! But this time, floating with clouds!

I'm not really into strong colors, so it might be safe to say that i'll be painting with only pastel colors. :) Ended up with a pastel shade of watermelon and while waiting for it to dry, I wondered if I should even put seeds on the watermelon, because it seemed alright with me as it is. But upon asking people on Instagram, they suggested to put the seeds and I did!

Tadah!:) Grey seeds though! :) Again, pastel!=P So far, I haven't done a third canvas frame yet. Still pondering on the design. :)

Hope you guys enjoyed this Art Diaries post! Happy weekend ahead!!

Kenny Rogers: Some things are too good to forget

If there was one thing I could bring back from the past... something that was possible, I guess that would be to have another day with my grandfather. To go on a date with him and just spend the whole day talking. It doesn't have to be months, weeks, I just want a day. We never really got the chance to have dates anymore, so it's something I really want to bring back. Unfortunately, that isn't possible anymore. But I'm not giving up. :) I can always wait for him in my dreams.♥

Last Friday, I spent the start of my weekend at Sky Ranch, Tagaytay in a very nostalgic way. It was almost like going back to the good memories and the one responsible for this awesome day is none other thanKenny Rogers. :) And the main question of Kenny Rogers to us during the event was, "What we wanted to bring back from last year?"My answer was simple-- To have adventures and road trips again. :)

So why did they ask us this question? :)

Because, finally, they have brought back their crowd favorite from last year- The Kenny Rogers Garlic Butter Chicken. :)

To be honest, it was my first time to taste it and I loved it! I imagined it was going to have this strong garlicky taste, which I'm not a fan of. But it didn't! It had a tasty subtle flavor and I enjoyed it!:) I especially love the Garlic Chorizo Pasta! Nom nom nom!

Doesn't this make you hungry?^_^ Kenny Rogers also offers delivery, so no matter where you are, they will deliver! 555-9000 is the number!:)

Photo from Beb Ana :)

Aside from the yummy lunch, I also enjoyed some good Kenny coffee and great company of the Tagaytay crew!:)

After our intimate lunch with the Kenny Rogers team, they took us to Sky Ranch and treated us to some fun rides!:) Yey! Told you, this trip was a very nostalgic one! Bringing back some childhood memories of amusement parks and basically, being a kid for a day!

The order of the rides we took here is backwards hehe. :) We first rode the Carousel, The Eye and we saved the best for last- Super Vikings!:) I'm not really the brave type when it comes to rides. The adrenaline rush kinda gets to me, but that only happens once I'm one the ride! Haha! I'm gutsy when I still on the ground and waiting for my turn. But once I'm on the ride, good luck!=P

Felt dizzy during the Carousel ride, so I also tried walking while the ride was still going around hahaha!:) This was also a perfect time to be silly!

Photo from Beb Ana :)

Next up, The Eye!:) This ride was kinda hilarious for us, because the songs playing were so senti that if you were a melancholy person and you rode alone, it would be a tear jerker ride!:)) We kept wondering what the next song would be and it all played mellow ones! The view was amazing though! We saw the beautiful Taal!

And finally, the ride that tested us all! hahaha! We were so brave when we got on the Super Vikings... Ana and I were the most excited to go on it and kept cheering. But after, it was a whole different thing! Why??? Watch Mother Earth's vide below!

Now you know what fashion bloggers look like when they're scared! haha!:))

Thank you so much, Kenny Rogers for such an amazing day!:) Definitely another great memory to add to 2015, because some things are too good to forget. ;) This was a great end to my January!

Rustic Mornings

I love quirky and whimsical things and trying out places that involve those two is something I really enjoy doing. I remember middle of last year, my BFF Nickie mentioned a restaurant called Rustic Mornings to me. She showed me her awesome photos of the place and I instantly fell in love. From then on, it was on my list of places or restos to try. :) Finally, before January ended, they took me and the hubby there and we had a double date!

Want to see more of this place?:)

As soon as you enter the place, you can already feel green vibe going on. :) I recommend going here during daytime, so you can enjoy the decor of the place more. :) The ambiance is relaxing and easy on the eyes.

They offer breakfast food, lunch and also dinner. But my best friend mentioned that dinner is strictly by reservation only. They normally close around 4PM and resume for dinner if you reserved for that day.

There are two ways to dine here- either indoor or alfresco! As for us, we chose the latter, because the trimmings and view outside was just too lovely to pass up. :) It's like being in a cute junk shop and you can find so many treasures in the place.

It's eccentric and that's why I love it. :)

With the BFFs. :)

We ordered Beef Tapa, Pork Tocino, Breaded Boneless Bangus, and Waffles, Buffalo Chicken Strips with Salad. :) The price range for a meal is around Php 155- 200+ :) Not bad at all.

If you're a first-timer here, I highly suggest you try out the Waffle, Buffalo Chicken strips with salad. It's delicioso!

I definitely want to go back here again... Most definitely!

If you want to mesmerize your tummy, mind and heart, you should try out Rustic Mornings.  I promise you won't regret it. :)

Cause we never go out of style

I, may be a colorful person, but I firmly believe that black and white will never go out of style. :) A lot of fashion bloggers sport these hues and it's a shame that I rarely get to do it, so finally, here's another once in a blue moon, B&W outfit post!

What do you, guys think? Did I manage to pull it off? :)

By the way, my hair has come to a point wherein it has three shades; bronze, brown and pink already. Lol!=P It's a bit difficult to main intensely colored hair, but I don't regret having it turned to violet. :) I don't know though if I should have it colored to violet again or have my hair trimmed to a long bob. Hmm.... So many thoughts! ^_^ Whatcha guys think? Help?

If you noticed my OOTD since this year started, I've been wearing a certain brand quite a few times and it's this new online store just got me hooked! And it helps all the more that it's from my second home- Taiwan!;)

The online store that I'm talking about is none other than USO PLUS. :)

They carry quite a few brands and the clothes are so pretty and cute! The particular brand that I'm wearing is the EYESCREAM. I love it, because it has this sweet and classy look that I'm looking for. :) Oh and not to mention, it's laid back, so all the more I like the brand. :) Do check them out!

Skirt: Forever 21
Mandals: SM Parisian

Another favorite of mine lately is the super awesome normcore mandals from SM Parisian. I went there the other day and I wanted to get everything!>_< If only I could! But for now, I'm in love with this silvery pair!

Anyhoo, that's all for now! Hope you all had an amazing weekend! It's another week of school and work, so wishing everyone a great week ahead!

Cafe Travel

Back again with another cafe trip post!:) As some of you may know, I've been going to quite a few coffee or tea shops lately and most of them are quaint or cute ones. :) I already have my first post about this up and it's a pretty random one - http://www.artsyfartsyava.com/2015/01/coffee-dates.html :) But incase you're interested, just click the link above. :)

For my second post, I'm featuring a coffee shop near my school. :) There are a few nice coffee shops opening there recently and I'm trying to explore each one and blog about them. First up is Cafe Travel.

Cafe Travel is located at Archer's Nook, 2464 Taft Ave, Manila. It's near DLS-CSB main and across DLS. You can easily walk from there to this place in less than 10 minutes, if you study from either school. :) It's a newly opened cafe and I believe it's owner is a Korean and judging by the concept, it really looks like it. :)

I went here with the Hubby last week after our dinner to have dessert and if you're wondering about the price range, I think it's safe to at least prepare around Php 150-200 per person. :)

The place has a nice ambiance, perfectly lit, and you each have a cozy little nook to enjoy your coffee, latte or smoothie with friends. Did I mention they have soft pillows? :) It doesn't hurt that the place is also artsy! I'm in love with it. ^_^
The place is quite big, so you have an option whether you want to stay up or down. As for us, we chose up!

Another great thing about this place is you're free to post sticky notes on their wall. :) They even have note pads and colored pencils on their counter for people like me who forgot their own sticky pads. =P Oh and I kinda felt bad when I read this person's message, so I decided to stick a little happier one next to it. :) Hope it helps!

For our order, we had Chocolate Latte, Strawberry smoothie and Blueberry cheesecake. :) The Hubby and I, give two thumbs up! All three items weren't too sweet and the flavor was balanced. :) I can't wait to try their other stuff!

There are two more Coffee shops that I want to visit and i'll surely blog about them once I do!:) Hope you, guys liked this post!

Mystery Box in BGC

If you're a frequent visitor at Bonifacio Global City, you would have most likely notice the big Dentiste green and white gift box that has been sitting in their garden area. That Mystery Box has made a lot of people curious and finally, day before Valentine's Day, they revealed it to everyone. :)

Can you guess what's waiting inside? :)

Naturally, we all got surprised when this silhouette of a kissing couple appeared as the cover was taken off. But when you think of it, being in a conservative country, we tend to get shy to kiss in public or we worry too much about what other people might think.

This Valentine's Day 2015, Dentiste changed that for all of us by allowing us to have a moment with our loved ones in this box and even capture this sweet gesture through a photo. :)

Oh and just so you know, this box wasn't just for couples who wanted to kiss their special someone. This was also welcomed to friends, sisters and even mother and child. Just like me and Athan on the photo above!:)

We also got to witness the couple from the reality TV show "I DO" - Jimmy and Kring. :)

They too shared a sweet kiss and they look so happy together!^_^

Thank you to my cute lil' date!

I think this was a successful Valentine's Day plan for Dentiste. :) Not only did the couples enjoy, but it added as another great memory for everyone who joined in the fun. :)

"Dentiste is the 1st Nighttime Toothpaste clinically proven to inhibit the growth of nighttime oral bacteria, giving you fresh morning breath!"

Love under the stars

Typically, when the day of hearts arrives, the Hubby and I spend it going on a date at the mall and sit down dinner and maybe a movie. This year though, we decided to stir it a little by going to Nuvali with my blogger sisters Ana, Christine, Arnie + Joed. :)

Celebrating the love month, Nuvali Night Sky Cinema held its much awaited Romantic Reels outdoor screening last February 14th, gathering lovers and loved ones to a starry movie treat, under the moonlit skies and within the comforts of nature.

Our ride!!!:)

Since Nuvali is situated in Laguna, we had to ride a shuttle and being in the same van as these girls just makes it all the more fun. :)

I also got lovely gifts from my girls for Valentine's Day! Awww!! Super sweet! Thank you, gals!!

Held at the Fields in Nuvali, Laguna, couples, families, and friends settled in the greens for an idyllic movie experience- with food and refreshments galore- featuring three of the most memorable and unique love stories over the last three decades. :)

Free and open to all, Romantic Reels is Nuvali's second Valentine's outdoor screening and fifth total.

The film showing kicked-off with the Tom Hanks-Meg Ryan classic, Sleepless in Seattle. :) The next two movies were 50 First Dates and The Fault in Our Stars. Which we unfortunately weren't able to see anymore due to the rain. :( But this was such a great experience!:) Hoping to do this again next Valentine's Day!

First launched in 2013, The Nuvali Night Sky Cinema, is an outdoor screening event that highlights Nuvali's vision of being a venue that brings people together to share fun and unique activities that are best enjoyed within the comforts of nature. :)

Hold on to what you're feeling

Another big blazer outfit and can I just say that if given the chance to wear a huge blazer everyday, I would. If only the weather here in Manila was like Tagaytay's or Laguna's that would allow us to layer all the time. But summer is just a month away and we all have to keep our sweaters, scarves and thick blazers again to make way for the sleeveless, summer dresses and shorts...In short, summer dressing again! The weather may be scorching hot by that time, but I am looking forward to the bright colors!^_^

Just a short intro above about my outfit, but what I really wanna talk about is LOVE. :) I know Valentine's Day is over; 3 days over to be exact. But I just recalled what a certain someone told me before and I bet you heard it already somewhere already too ---

"When you get older, the love you feel towards each other eventually turns platonic and you lose the spark."

That's one of the things I refuse to believe in ever since I was little. Call me naive, but I firmly believe in my heart and mind that once you commit yourself to someone and love them, you shouldn't let that feeling die. I'm still convinced that true love exist; the kind of love that lasts until you're 80 or 100 years old. The fuzzy feeling you get when you look at your partner and you know why you chose/married him or her. Yes, it may turn platonic, but there are reasons why some sweet love turn sour.

There are ways to make that love work and when I say WORK, I really mean work. The couples you see that have been together for 3, 4 ,5 years or decades didn't just last that long out of nothing. I'm sure all of them worked to get where they are. Even after the honeymoon stage, you can still have that happy feeling. But if you're just starting out on your relationship, you can try out some of the things I learned in my 8 years of being in one. :)

1.) COMPROMISE- A relationship is a two way street and it works best when you both know how to meet each other halfway. You can't always have it your way and most definitely not HIS way or the highway. Ex.) If he goes to your event and genuinely supports you, it's just but right that you go to his activities too.

2.) KNOW WHEN YOU'RE WRONG- Pride eats up a lot of relationships and more often than not, you let it rule. That's a big NO-NO. You have to acknowledge when you're wrong and take the time to apologize. Sorry isn't so difficult to say if you mean it from the heart and believe me, it does great wonders! It solves most problems. As long as you didn't cheat, alright? That's a different story. ;)

3.) TRY NEW THINGS TOGETHER & GO ON DATES- This applies a lot to married couples. Once you have kids, you kinda feel that your life solely revolves around them. I'm not saying it doesn't or it shouldn't. Having kids is awesome! They make life a lot happier for us. But some couple forget this and let their bond with each other die along with having kids and when they're married, they think the working part is over. You need quality time together and ALONE time. Try talking to your partner or husband with kids around and I bet you won't really go far, because some kids can't stop asking "Why Mommy?" or "Why is this like this, Daddy?" It's just a natural thing for them. So, going on dates help, because you get to converse, bond and if you try new things together, you discover more things about each other and you can ignite that spark once more. :)

4.) TALK TO EACH OTHER- Yes, I know you're together almost everyday and you talk. But real talk is made up of open communication and this is really healthy for your relationship; You have to be honest and let your partner know what you want or need. He or she is not a fortuneteller so, replies like "I'M FINE", "K", the silent treatment  or going to sleep upset isn't really going to do much for you both. Trust that you both can work things out no matter the weather.

5.) TEAMWORK- It takes two to tango and being able to support one another can help your relationship thrive. You two can work on a business, make decisions together and make them feel your there, because you want to be in it with them and not cos you're forced. Ex.) My husband and I have this tag team kinda thing- He gives the kids a bath and I prepare their clothes and dress them up and vise versa. This also happens when I cook dinner and he washes the dishes. :)

6.) GROWTH OR FOR THE BETTER- If you see yourself dropping everything to be with one man or girl and you forget the important things in your life, then you're headed in the wrong direction.  Being in a relationship shouldn't stop you from focusing on yourself. The more you improve, the more your relationship happier. You know your relationship is blossoming when you, too are doing great.

7.) SAY "I LOVE YOU" AND MEAN IT- A lot of us get so used to saying the word that it actually loses its meaning or sometimes we keep saying it, but we don't exactly SHOW it. Know that the simple things matter and if we continue to give affection to the ones we truly love, then it will surely bring out the best in your relationship.

Blazer: F21

There are a lot more things to learn when you're in a relationship and everyday is a learning experiencing and whether you're in a relationship for weeks, months or years, what matters is you don't forget to work on it and hold on to what you're feeling- why you loved that person in the first place. :)

Oh and I wanna share one last thing before I end this. A song that has actually inspired me to write this...

A perfect song for all couples who feel like they're on the rocks. If you know that both of you are heading in the same direction, then make it work!:)

Back to the old days

I remember back when I was a kid, I was such a TV addict (Now, I'm a social media addict.. lol!). I'd watch it as soon as I woke up, when I came home from school and I'd even stay up on weekends and fall asleep on the chair, just watching. I guess that and reading books contributed a lot to my poor eye sight haha!:)

But I don't regret being so hooked on them, because I grew up with some of the best 90s TV shows and I'm sad that they no longer have airtime on Nickelodeon or Disney Channel. I miss them! Luckily though, I discovered that Youtube can be your best friend when it comes to really old shows!

There are plenty of TV shows that I love back then. But I have two favorites that I also watch on Youtube. You can say that I've done some serious series marathoning there. :) Can you guess which ones I watch a lot?

The first one is The Twilight Zone. My husband introduced me to it after I gave birth to my first son Athan. During the nights when Athan would be so wide awake, we'd watch it. We stopped after sometime and recently, I went back to watching them again. It has two versions, the 1959 of Rod Sterling and the 2002 with Forest Whitaker. I love the 1959-1964 more. :)

My favorite episodes from both are:

The Silence | Dream Lover | Queen of the Nile | The Once and Future King | Her Pilgrim Soul | Night Route | The After Hours | The Misfortune Cookie

and a few more that I can't remember at the moment. >_< You can easily find the modern ones here: https://www.youtube.com/user/ar0dm3x2 and as for the 1959, just type in The Twilight Zone on the search bar and you'll see the Black and White episodes. :)

The other series that I love is from the 90s and it's none other than, ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK? :) I'm the kind the easily gets scared of spooked out, but I enjoy a good scare once in awhile. My favorite is Are You Afraid of the Dark cos it's subtle. Something that would give me goosebumps, but I can still manage to sleep! haha!:)

My favorite episodes are:

The Prom Queen | The Doll Maker | The Secret Admirer | Locker 22 | The Lonely Ghost | The Dream Girl |

How about you, guys? What's your favorite TV shows as a kid? :)

Top: American Eagle
Shorts: Plains & Prints

Oh and about this outfit, I wore it to our Chinese New Year celebration. :) The main highlight is obviously the necklace. Show stopper!:) It's from https://www.facebook.com/simonesclosetshop and they have a nice collection lined up, so do check them out!:)

Have a great weekend, folks!

Pinto Art Museum

I mentioned in my year ender post last December 2014 that one of the things I was happy that I got to do all throughout the year was do a lot of artsy related things and among that was go on museum trips. :) I can't thank my best friends enough for the never ending interest of going with me on these kinds of adventure. :) Beginning of February 2015, the first thing we did was go on another museum trip and this time it was at one of the most beautiful and stunning one here in Manila-- The Pinto Art Museum in Antipolo. :)

It's kinda tricky when you look at it from the outside; it looks small. But wait till you get inside!:)

We were actually very lucky on the day that we went here. There was an event, so we need not to pay the entrance fee, which is Php 150 for regular ticket, Php 120 for Senior Citizens and PWD with valid IDs and Php 75 for children and students with proper school IDs. :) I was already ready with my ID, but didn't need it after all. Yey! ^_^

The museum for me is for all kinds of art lovers; whether you like the eccentric, mysterious, dark or colorful ones, they practically have it all. :) I also can't help but fall in love with their all white structures. Everything is so minimalist that your focus would be just on the environment and art. :) So peaceful too!

I can stay here forever. It's the ideal place to waste your time and I wouldn't mind one bit. :) They have a cafe within the museum, so staying here till closing time wouldn't be a bore. :)

The artworks are located in different areas and some you have to change buildings to see. But I'm sure with the beautiful view, you wouldn't mind walking! You just might find yourself taking a few pictures before getting to the next location. ;)

Like I said, different art, different location. :) But this is one of my favorite areas!

The cool kids! hahaha!=P

I had second thoughts about wearing a dress to a day of adventure. But turns out this dress and the color was just perfect for the minimalist look of Pinto Art Museum. :) Don't you, think?

Pinto also has a lot of romantic spots that you can take pictures at. Very picturesque and if I have a church wedding someday, I'd really like my prenuptial shoot to be done here. :) I love it! Especially this quaint building above. :)

Has this place got you captivated yet? :) If you haven't been here, you should really put it on your Bucket List!:) It's a must! I suggest though, you go here early, because my friends and I got here at around 4:00 PM and they close at 5PM. We weren't able to see this one part of Pinto, but we did see the majority. :)

We were also lucky to witness the opening of this exhibit on the day we went. Amazing!:) It was truly the right day to go!:)

We had an amazing time at Pinto and if given the chance, I really want to go back again. :) It's one of the best museums in the Philippines. Glad to have it checked on my Bucket List!

Pinto Art Museum is open from Tuesdays-Sundays, 9AM-5PM.

TOMS S/S'15 collection

When TOMS first came here in the Philippines, I immediately got attracted to their footwear design. It was very laid back, yet stylish. It was perfect for almost all the outfits I had in mind or let's just put it as "A match made in heaven for my closet!" :) But there was one thing I didn't really realize about the brand until last year. It's actually a brand that has made it their business to improve the lives of people-- One for One. :)

Last Tuesday, I went to Your Local restaurant and Yardstick Coffee shop to take a look at TOMS' Spring/Summer 2015 collection.

Along with the new collection, they also partnered with fellow artists to design their TOMS. :)

*Works by: Nicole Whisenhunt, Carlo Ongchangco,  Gil Angelo Ibe*

In 2006, American traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended children in a village in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. To date, TOMS has given over 35 million new pairs of shoes.

The brand is already amazing when it comes to helping people, but wouldn't you agree that their shoe design is also always on point. :)

This S/S '15, the new collection has allowed TOMS to expand their offerings to include a variety of casual and fashion forward styles not just for women, but for men and children as well.

Frontlined by their new launched Majorca Booties, a sophisticated open-toed boot with a stacked heel, the extensive collection of footwear for women now also includes handwoven Huarache sandals, creative and strappy Bella espadrille wedges and athletic Del Rey sneakers. Each of these pairs is perfect for those who want to sport stylish looks they can take from day to night without compromising comfort.

Similarly, the new collection of footwear for men provides guys with a wide variety of stylish options that can take them anywhere they need to be, including the action-inspired Viaje Sneaker and beatnik-styled Huaraches.

Aside from the great footwear, Spring/Summer 2015 also marks the launch of TOMS Bags collection, which launched in early 2015, and helps provide safe births to mothers and babies in need through skilled birth attendant training and birth kits. :)

These colorful and artistic bags will be available sometime March. :)

If you also noticed above, TOMS released an eyewear collection for S/S '15 and they're very stylish! But did you know, since its launch in 2011, TOMS' eyewear collection has helped restore the sight of more than 275,000 individuals in over 10 countries by providing prescription glasses, medical treatment or sight-saving surgery with every pair of glasses sold.

And if that's not enough, they have also provided over 67,000 weeks of safe water worldwide through their TOMS Roasting Co. premium coffee.

Our very own, Victoria Herrera is the newest ambassador for TOMS and she has been helping them spread the wonderful initiative of the brand. She not only travels for fashion, but for a PURPOSE. :)

Victoria Herrera and Sarah Meier :)

Ms. Dimples Lao of TOMS Philippines. :)

This brand has amazed me beyond belief!:) They are not only creative, but they have so much heart in what they do. I really hope that we'll have more brands like them who are socially aware. We need it! This event made me take home so much more than an event experience. It taught me as well to be grateful and to give. :) Thank you, TOMS!

With Beb Ana, Tracy and Paul :)

TOMS products are available at TOMS Megamall, TOMS Mall of Asia, The Give Project, Adora in Greenbelt 5, Rustan's Department Stores and all Nothing But H2O Stores. :)

Holi Festival 2015

It's March again and that means another year to celebrate one of India's best festival - The Holi 2015 a.k.a. The Festival of Colors!:) My best friends and husband attended one last year and we had a great time, so we didn't want to miss out on this year. Luckily, we were able to go, because it was much bigger and had more activities this time around. :)

For those who aren't familiar...

"Holi is a spring festival also known as the festival of colours or the festival of love. It is an ancient Hindu religious festival which has become popular with non-Hindus in many parts of South Asia, as well as people of other communities outside Asia."(source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holi)

The Holi Manila Festival was done at SM by the bay again and the ticket prices for on the site purchase is Php 200, while pre-selling before the event itself was only Php 150. :)
As soon as we got our tickets, we held on to them tightly, because your ticket is your key to getting the color or powder you'll be using to to throw or smear on people. :)

Last year, we were only able to get limited colors of powder, so I'm glad this time around, they had more options for us to choose from!

This festival is meant for the kids as well! Though, I don't recommend bringing a tiny baby, because the powder might go in their eyes or mouth. :( Unless you have ways of protecting them against those. :)

I wasn't able to take a photo of us before Holi, but believe me, we still looked a bit clean on the photos below. Others were really covered in color!

Incase you want to try Holi next year, my tips are....

1. Wear an all white t-shirt- this is the best color to wear, because you can easily spot the color thrown on you and that's the purpose! Just make sure it's the kind of shirt you're willing to get stained on. :)

2. Bring a bag that you're also willing to get stained on, because I can't promise that the color will come off. Though mine has. :)

3. Put clear plastic on your camera or gadget to protect it, if you want to take a lot of photos of the event

4. Bring extra shirts and at least two face towels or soap, because it's kind hard to remove the color if you don't scrub it

5. Just enjoy the culture! There are a lot of Indian entertainment and food, so immerse yourself it in. :)

Finally, our ultimate dirty selves! hahaha! The host asked everyone if we wanted more color and he threw tiny plastic bags to the crowd, fortunately, my best friend Lester had a good catch of one, but unfortunately the plastic bag had a really thin material, so it exploded on our faces as he caught it! =P We couldn't stop laughing!

It was another awesome Holi experience for us and I can't wait for next year! HOLI HEY!!!

Seize the summer!

March is the official mark of summer and boy! do I really feel the heat already! Whew! It's time to bring out all our summer clothes, accessories, swimwear and oh! let's not forget our protection from the sun - SPF! I know this all too well, because I got a bad case of sunburn from Athan's field trip last Saturday and my skin is just awful right now. It needs some R&R. :(

Fortunately, I have a new summer partner that will shield me from the harmful UVB rays of the sun and I discovered it from the Vaseline event that I attended yesterday at Stella, BGC. :)

What's so special about this new product? :)

Now, you'll never have to miss out on summer again. Vaseline, the world's pioneer in skin care, has consistently been there to provide women with quality skin care products that help them make the most of their lives. The brand has created waves with its iconic innovations: its petroleum jelly, the moisturizing lip therapy, and the brand's most recently launched breakthrough: Instant Fair Lotion. And now that summer is here, Vaseline is once again presenting an innovation that will be the answer to women's skin care concerns, and help them seize the summer!

Introducing the new Vaseline Water-Based Whitening Serum that provides three modes of fairness and comes in a non-sticky formula that is easily absorbed by the skin.

> Vaseline Water-Based Whitening serum has SPF30 that provides up to 96% protection from UVB rays of the sun that cause skin damage & sunburn, making it Vaseline's best-ever sun protection.

> It also has PA++ that protects against UVA rays of the sun that cause aging & darkening

> Lastly, it has Vitamin B3 that whitens skin with continued use

Aside from learning about the new Vaseline Water-Based Whitening Serum, we also met its newest ambassador, Tricia Gosingtian. :) Of course, she's the perfect pick for this, because she loves traveling and I'm sure there are times she needs this when taking pictures under the sun. :)

We also played a fun game about summer trivia and facts. We didn't win, but it was a good game!

Along with this new product, Vaseline is adding another great news and that is the chance to #SeizeTheSummer in Bali, Indonesia! :) Yey!

This summer, Vaseline challenges all women to #SeizeTheSummer without worries by giving away trips to one of the top destinations in Asia, Bali Indonesia. Entering the contest is simple.

Contest Mechanics:

- Post a photo of your perfect summer activity & answer the question: "With Vaseline Water-Based Serum, how will you #SeizeTheSummer?"
- For your entry to count, you must tag @VaselinePH & use the hashtag #SeizeTheSummer
- Post your photo BOTH on Instagram and Twitter
- Vasline Summer Mavens, Laureen Uy & Tricia Gosingtian will each choose one winner who will win a trip for two to Bali, Indonesia
-The Bali trip for the lucky winners will take place on April 10-14

By now, I'm sure you're ready to take on summer and I really suggest that you try out joining the contest. Who knows, you just might be the lucky winner!;)

Debenhams is a leading international store that hails from the land of the United Kingdom and for years we've had the pleasure of shopping its few stores here in Manila. Now, they open up a new iconic store at the Estancia Mall at Capitol Commons in Pasig City. :)

Oh and it's also their 10th anniversary in the Philippines!

Before the launch of the official store, we were all invited for a little British fun outside the mall. :)

I really liked the set up that they did. They offered fish & chips, crepe, paella, drinks and nail art.

And before the fashion, we also got to meet and hear a few words from the brand team. :)

And finally, a photo diary of the really cool fashion show by Debenhams!

They opened up the show with models waving Debenhams signs and the UK flag on Mini Coopers!:)

For the finale, the models led us all to their new iconic store at Estancia Mall...

The store is beautiful. It has a minimalist theme to it, but it's the first Debenhams store here in Manila that follows the same Oxford Street style in the UK. :)

The store caters to all gender and ages- Menswear, Womenswear and Childrenswear.

CAUGHT! Of course, little 'ol me couldn't help but take a photo of the shoes! >_<

You can also find the collaboration of Debenhams with British designers like John Rocha, Ted Baker, Yukari Sweeney, Ashley Thomas and more. :)

If ever you're in Kapitolyo, visit the new Debenhams iconic store! :)

The perfect match :)

Being in the fashion blogging industry for 5 years now, I've had my fair share of fashion experience when it comes to dressing up. Believe me, I'd had a couple of fashion Boo-Boos before I actually got the hang of it. Sometimes I'd get the colors all mixed up that it doesn't look good anymore or I'd pair the wrong shoes with a certain outfit. Oh the list goes on. But what I really learned is how to pick lingerie suitable for one's body type and how it would also look when I wear my clothes. :)

When wearing tight clothes, I highly suggest that you go for undergarments that aren't that noticeable or as if it doesn't exist. You wouldn't want your panty lines saying HELLO to strangers or being visible on your tush when you're walking in public or worst,  at important events! >_< You can either wear g-string, thongs or panties that have really thin straps. :) For jeans though, I think you can get away with the hipster or boyleg style. :)

On a daily basis for me though, I love

If you're confused on what those styles are or you actually want a change to your undergarments, you can check out the stylish collection of undergarments at Zalora. :)

Aside from underwear, I also have outfits that need bras that also won't be too visible, because it's strapless. (like the ones you see above) or a low back dress. I'm sure you've seen plenty of celebrities wear outfits like that and wonder, "Are they wearing any bra??" Of course, majority of them are. They just have the perfect lingerie for it! So, normally I wear strapless bras or adhesive bras. That's my go-to. But for others, you can try the Low-back bra converter. :) Reference here: http://ultimatebraguide.com/neckline/low-back-dress-or-top/

A perfect example of a low back dress would be my outfit here:

It's really simple once you get the hang of it. :) Hope this helped!

Manila Symphony Orchestra at Ayala Malls

You can hear music everywhere - be it in the air, birds chirping, people talking on your daily commute or just listening to your favorite sound. It's everywhere! Especially in the country's leading lifestyle destination. Ayala Malls sets the stage for its most symphonic season yet, as it becomes the new home for the Metro's most-revered musical act, the Manila Symphony Orchestra.

This March, Ayala Mall patrons will witness the behind the scenes of a successful orchestra performance, as Manila Symphony Orchestra reveals its rehearsal sessions at the cosmopolitan center of Glorietta 5. Here, not only are the shoppers treated to afternoons of soothing classical music, they would also get a glimpse at the technical yet masterful tinkering of the country's finest musicians. With this, the almost 180 year old orchestra aims to show that classical music is well alive and thriving with the everyday workings of its musicians, and perhaps inspire the audience to take part in this musical journey themselves.

Aside from this already lovely news, the Ayala Malls and the Manila Symphony Orchestra will also conduct a different kind of summer workshop, with three-hour training sessions with the orchestra's finest masters absolutely free! Here, kids and teens can get the chance to learn how to play the violin under the tutelage of the orchestra's greatest musicians starting at...

* The UP Town Center - April 12
* The Fairview Terraces Mall - April 19
* BGC's Market! Market! - April 26
* Alabang Town Center - May 3
* The Solenad - May 17

With this, the Ayala Malls and the Manila Symphony Orchestra aim to encourage the musical plight of every child, passing the baton to a vibrant new generation of classical music enthusiasts.

Athan starting on the Violin!

If I were you, Mommies and Daddies, I'd take advantage of this really great opportunity for your children to learn from the best!:) And take note, for FREE!:)

On March 21, in celebration of Johann Sebastian Bach's 300th birthday, the MSO will simultaneously play their ode to the German composer's enduring hymns in hour-long performances in various sites in the Metro: at the Greenbelt's The Gallery, Alabang Town Center's Corte delas Palmas, Trinoma's Park Level, and at the Glorietta 5's Atrium.

In June, on the other hand, the halls of Glorietta and Greenbelt will be filled with the beautiful music as MSO shares the stage with the world-renowned Harvard Orchestra.

Where music is found everywhere, surely, the Ayala Malls and the MSO is sure to inspire a more vibrant and vivacious everyday life. This will definitely be a musical summer for all Ayala Mall-goers!:)
