The rainy season is upon us and I always make sure to bring an umbrella with me wherever I go, because the weather can be sunny in the morning then pouring rain in the evening. You never know anymore! But what is hard to decide on is the footwear i'll be using. I can't always be in sneakers or goodness me, heels! Getting my shoes wet would be such a drag cos it can ruin the footwear completely. That's usually my dilemma cos I don't want to be in ugly rain shoes forever.
Good thing, I found a new stylish partner through the monsoon! :)

No matter what age I am, I think I will forever love toys! And how can I resist them? They just keep getting better! Summer has ended, but there are so many reasons to still get excited about July and one of them is the return of Oishi Snacktacular! :) My very first time to attend was last year, >>READ HERE<< held at TriNoma mall and I had such a great time! This year, from July 15-17, 2016, this fun-filled affair will be held at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall. :)

This weekend, spend it at the Oishi Snacktacular event and PRESS PLAY to enjoy the cool and fun interactive booths, fan-favorite snacks, and Oishi's iconic Team O members - Daniel Padilla, Kathryn Bernardo, Ramon Bautista, Alex Gonzaga, Slater Young, and Elmo Magalona.
Got to the venue at around 12:30 noon today and I must say I super love the video game theme!

Oishi's innovative booths make their comeback at this year's 8-bit inspired event! I saw quite a few old favorite installations and there are also new ones! :) Let me walk you, guys through it!

My favorite was the Dalandan Burst! ^_^ Perfect to quench any thirst in a healthy way! Plus, the weather lately has been hot, so this is perfect to cool off. ;)

When it comes to building a family home, I can say that my husband and I are still pretty new it. There are so many things to be planned and done when it comes to designing the happy family home. But we’re getting there slowly, but surely. :)

Recently, I’ve been acquiring a few appliances that are much needed in our house. These are also a factor in having a good household. But let’s face it, we can’t get every appliance we need in one go, especially if you’re like me, who doesn’t own or want to have a credit card. I personally don’t like to have one despite the many offers at malls, because I don’t like temptations! >_< I want to spend within my budget.

Fortunately, while window-shopping at SM Appliance store the other day, I spotted a promo called ‘Home Credit’. It immediately caught my attention and asked the staff about it.

Home Credit is a responsible loaning service that allows people with little or no credit history to purchase appliances and electronic gadgets through installment. So, if you have no credit card, no problem! :) You can now buy your dream LCD TV, Laptop, Camera or Phone with the help of Home Credit. :)

How does the application process go? Let me walk you through it, since I, myself, applied for it. :)

Our house almost has everything we might need, but lately, some of our fans and vacuum broke, so I was on the lookout for both.

To apply for Home Credit, you need to meet the following requirements, since this is a loan service.

· Filipino Citizen

· Employed (at least 3 months), self-employed, businessman/woman, or receives regular remittance

· Primary IDs (at least 1 with address) SSS or GSIS, driver’s license, voter’s ID, passport, UMID, PRC

· Or you can also show them any of your Supporting documents – Philhealth card, credit/savings card, Postal ID, NBI Clearance, Company ID, Remittance slip, Salary Slip, Certificate of employment, Bank/account statement, electricity bill, water bill, phone bill, mobile bill, barangay clearance, Pag-IBIG/HDMF card.

*Basically, you need two valid IDs or if you only have one, you can show supporting documents*

The first thing I did was talk to a Home Credit staff at the SM Appliance store (always ask for a Home Credit Sales Associate) and told her the items that I wanted to purchase through Home Credit. :)

As soon as she was able to take note of the stuff I wanted to get, we went inside their office to fill up some forms and discuss about the loan terms of Home Credit. There are two loan term and offer:

· 12 Months– When you diligently pay the first 11 installments on or before the due date, the last month will be FREE!

· 24 Months– Almost similar with the 12 months, but with this, if you pay the first 22 installments on or before due date, the last two months are FREE!

I opted for the 12 months, since the two items I got were only worth Php 7,000. :) BTW, you can also do a bundle purchase, meaning you can buy 3 different appliances in one go. :)

Upon filling up the form, you will be asked to jot down your details and even people close to you. Like any typical loan service, there will be a little one-on-one interview that can last about 15 minutes and you will be asked what your work is, how much you earn and if you have any pending debts. It’s important that you are 100% honest about this, because Home Credit will be checking the validity of this and it will be the basis whether your loan will be approved or not.

Once this process is done, you will wait for a phone call from Home Credit verifying all the details you gave the Home Credit Sales Associate. After this, it is the waiting game of whether your loan is APPROVED or REJECTED. The approval of this only took 18 minutes, wherein their poster indicates 20 minutes. :)

Safe to say, I have a good credit standing, because my loan was APPROVED! :) I proceeded with the contract signing and the Home Credit Sales Associate explained to me in detail how I would pay for my loan monthly. :)

After, I proceeded to the counter to pay for the initial cash-out of Php 2,000 and montly, I will be paying Php 667. :)

Finally a new vacuum to keep the house clean at all times and decided on a new electronic kettle!

All in all, I am very pleased with the easy, simple, and fast application process of Home Credit. With them, even without a credit card, first-time borrowers can make big purchases yet still have enough money for other daily needs. :)

Now, a house or a car isn’t the only thing you can loan, but appliances and gadgets as well! With this, my family and I can have a great start at building our future home and filling it up little by little. :)

Being a mother can bring out the best in you and the obsessive compulsive in you, because you would always want your kids to be clean and away from germs. I can't even count how many times in a day I tell my children, "No, hun! Don't touch! Dirty!!!">_< It is every parent's nightmare that their kids contract viruses or bacteria from things that they touch and then get sick.
I have two growing boys and ever since my eldest son Athan went to big school a.k.a. grade school, I no longer have the luxury of watching him in his classroom and making sure that he is fine in the span of 7 hours that he's in the campus. So, before he leaves the house, I try to see that he has everything that he needs and constantly remind him to be careful and try to keep himself healthy at all times.
Fortunately, when it comes to germs and keeping a good hygiene, we parents have Biogenic alcohol to turn to. :)

Last week, I went to the My Biogenic World: Playtime Discoveries and saw the fun activities that parents and their kids were enjoying so much. :) Nice to see when families bond! Too bad I wasn't able to bring my kids due to me coming from school. But they would have loved this!

But the thing that I looked forward to the most was the seminar talk from one of the Mom speakers. I was fortunate enough to catch the first one by Ms. Carmela Delos Santos. Her topic was "Raising Happy and Confident Children". :)
I honestly admit that even if I've been a Mom for 8 years and of two boys, I still have a lot of learning to do when it comes to my kids. I'm no expert, but would love to know more to raise them well.

She first talked about Affirming Your Child and she explained that we should never forget to let our kids know that we love them and we are proud of them. It's evident that we love our kids, but it is so much more when we express it to them. :)

Next is how the words we speak to our children matter a lot, because it digs deep into them and can be a huge factor to their growth. We should raise happy and healthy kids physically and emotionally. :) So, if there are times that our child disappoints us, let's not get too overwhelmed and speak words that cannot be taken back. Instead, take a breather and talk to them slowly and let them understand that your there for them.

Point number 3 is to Give Meaningful Praise. It's right to give our children praises, but we have to make sure that there is meaning to it. Like if they do an amazing artwork, you don't just say, "Good job!" at their finished work, but you also express admiration for the process. For example: "I love how you mixed the colors to create this beautiful piece, son!" or "It's amazing how you were able to make such a great artwork with only few materials!" :) Be more expressive!

Number 4 is to Focus on Your Child. We may get busy with everything going on in our life, like work and the internet. But we should never forget to give them our time and dedication. :) Like asking them how was their day at school and really listening to them. :) I personally love going on one-on-one dates with my kids!

And last, but definitely not the least, number 5 - To keep them clean and healthy! :) As I mentioned above, there are times that our kids touch anything and everything, so it's important to teach them good hygiene as early as possible. Like my eldest son Athan, I would pack him extra shirt, face towel and alcohol when he goes to school, so that even after a long day, he still feels fresh and can easily clean his hands incase there isn't a faucet/soap around. :)

I'm really glad I was able to attend this event! It was very informative! Thank you, Biogenic Alcohol for the wonderful afternoon! ^_^

It has been awhile since my last update cos things got really busy for me with Mom's vacation here, I had to run errands with her and I also had to deal with final exams and submission of requirements before our 3rd term ended. Back with another OOTD! I can't even remember the date of my last one and I won't check anymore, because I know its been ages! I usually post a quick outfit update on Instagram nowadays cos I find it difficult to tote around a camera with me on normal days, where I don't have an event.
Thankfully, when there is time, I have my awesome blog friends to help me with my OOTD shots!

Like I mentioned in my previous post, the term just ended for me and I can't believe that the next term will be the last of my college years. Not that I want to stay in college longer, because I'm already pass that! I'm waaaaayyy overdue to graduate. It took awhile cos I had a lot of struggle along the way - having a new baby, not being able to take full load, personal problems, etc. But now that it is getting closer, it feels surreal and I'm pretty excited about it. :)
What else is new? Hmm... I will be having a 3 week break from my own school, but another school year will be starting for me this August! I'll be back to teaching Calligraphy Club again! For some of you who don't know I teach at an all girls school and I'm just super ecstatic about going back! I missed it so much for 4 months! ^_^

Aside from school, nothing much has been happening. I've just been busy with Mom during her vacation here. We're usually out and get home pretty late. But it was fun! She's now back in Taiwan and will have to wait till Christmas to see her again. :)
Anyhow, excited for the weekend! This is the first Saturday that I don't have to wake up at 6:30AM to get ready for school! :) Weeeeeeee! Happiness!

Ever since Pokémon Go launched, people have been raving and getting so hooked on it. But it took awhile before Philippines officially had it. This August, the wait is over and the app is free for everyone to download here! ^_^ Yey!
Being a fan of Pokémon ever since my Game Boy days, I got excited for this and glad to have friends who also share the same love for it. We get to compare levels, Pokémons and certain techniques. :) Now, even malls are creating events for it!
This weekend, Ayala Malls is having a Lure Drop Party!

Today is the first day of the Lure Drop Party and I invited my best friends to come along with me cos we haven't seen each other in a while, so this would be a good bonding for us. Plus, I believe it's more fun catching Pokémons with your friends! We actually kept laughing the whole time! >_<
The Lure Drop Party today was held at Glorietta 5 and we went to the 11AM-2PM time slot. :)

I wasn't able to catch Pikachu, but my best friend Nickie was so lucky to have a photo! Cute! ^_^
When we got to the activity center, people were already flocking! It's obvious how office people are spending their lunch break! Haha! ;)

I started late with Pokémon Go cos I got so busy last week, so now I'm trying to catch up and hopefully will have a team by tomorrow! :) I'm thinking of Team Mystic or Valor? Hmmm!

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the term Prima Ballerina? For Filipinos, the term usually equates to Lisa Macuja-Elizalde, who is undoubtedly the country’s most prolific ballet dancer.

Naturally gifted in the art, Lisa fell in love with ballet and continued to learn it. When she was 18, she received a scholarship from the USSR Ministry of Culture to study at the then Leningrad Choreographic Institute. The school, which is now known as the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet, became the rock by which Lisa’s long and fruitful career stands today.

Lisa graduated at the top of her class in 1984. After her graduation, she joined the revered Kirov Ballet and debuted as principal ballerina in The Nutcracker, Don Quixote (with Faroukh Ruzimatov as Basilio) and Giselle at the Mariinsky Theater, a historic institution which is considered by most as Russia’s premier opera and ballet theater. As the first foreigner to become part of Kirov Ballet, Lisa became widely known all over USSR as “The Foreigner”, a title given to her by local press. Lisa wowed audiences during her debut performance, and even received a 20-minute standing ovation.

I always looked up to Lisa Macuja growing up cos she was so beautiful and graceful! I'd like to believe that almost every little girl has ballerina dreams and Lisa would have been on top of your mind when you think of a princess dancing! :)

When Lisa returned to the country in 1986, she became the first artist-in-residence of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, and performed as guest artist with Ballet Philippines. In 1988, she became a principal dancer of the Philippine Ballet Theatre and performed principal roles with foreign companies in Russia, the United States, Cuba, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine, Georgia and Armenia.

Realizing the need for an institution that will better promote ballet in the Philippines, Lisa, together with her partner, Osias Barroso, and ten other young dancers, founded Ballet Manila in 1995. Guided by their vision of bringing ballet to the people and the people to ballet—and thanks to their strict devotion to the Vaganova Academy style of dancing—the institution quickly rose to fame and is now widely considered as the Philippines’ foremost ballet company, performing in sold out shows in some of the most prestigious venues in Russia, the Unites States of America, Scotland, South Korea, China, Cambodia, Japan, England and Ireland.

Today, Lisa has retired from performing full time but still serves as the Artistic Director and Chief Executive Officer of Ballet Manila, which is opening their 21^stseason in August. She also owns The Lisa Macuja School of Ballet Manila, and continues the mission to make ballet more accessible to everyone.

When it comes to fizzy drinks, Mountain Dew has always been an ultimate favorite. I absolutely love the citrus-flavored soda and it's probably one that I drink often when dining out. :)
Much like their iconic green bottle, Mountain Dew is making another historic mark by launching the country's first ever DEWmocracy!

There are two new exciting flavors and that's not all! Everyone is invited to take a stand and let your voice be heard! Before fully going inside the venue of Whitespace, guests were asked to pick which flavor they liked the most and that's the side they'll go to. :)
After taking a sip of both, I made my decision!

I picked Dew Livewire!
The two limited-edition flavors are Blue Shock, the dew charged with Raspberry Citrus and Live Wire, the Dew with a blast of Orange. Between the two, Blue Shock is known to be cool and stunning. It lets action do the talking and leaves you, well, in shock! It has a distinct raspberry-like flavor that is unique to Filipinos. On the other hand, Live Wire is loud and electrifying. It is the Dew that hypes the crowd before jumping. As an orange flavor, Filipinos are sure to like its taste of familiarity.

Upon entering the venue, I could already feel the tension between the two flavors with us being separated in orange vs. blue lights!

There were different games like skating boarding, bottle flipping and even a FlipTop battle! How awesome is that!

Both teams were honestly amazing! I didn't even know who would win! But of course, only one team could be chosen for the day!
